What is EcoVadis?

EcoVadis is a globally recognised platform that assesses how well businesses manage sustainability and corporate responsibility. It provides an independent rating that helps companies understand their environmental, social and ethical performance, while also giving customers and partners greater transparency across supply chains.

Since its launch in 2007, EcoVadis has grown into one of the world’s most widely used sustainability rating systems. Today, more than 150,000 companies across over 175 countries use EcoVadis to benchmark and improve their sustainability practices.

The EcoVadis assessment looks at four key areas:

• Environment – how organisations manage energy use, emissions and environmental impact
• Labour & Human Rights – working conditions, health and safety, and employee wellbeing
• Ethics – business integrity, anti-corruption policies and responsible conduct
• Sustainable Procurement – how sustainability is managed throughout the supply chain

Businesses complete a detailed assessment supported by documentation and evidence. EcoVadis then provides a scorecard out of 100, highlighting strengths as well as opportunities for improvement.
